Vetran's Day Blog Hop - November 12

Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation in 1954 to change the name to Veterans Day as a way to honor those who served in all American wars. The day honors military veterans with parades and speeches across the nation. A national ceremony takes place at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

America is the Land of the Free, because of the brave. Veteran’s Day celebrates and acknowledges the service of all United States Military Veterans. Today we honor the brave men and women who have served in the American Military. With great respect, and a heart full of pride, we say a great big THANK YOU to those who have served. Please hop with us as we pay homage to the people who help keep America the Land of the Free.

You should have started at Melissa's Blog. If you did not, please go back and start from the beginning. You don't want to miss any of these fabulous projects!

Here is the project I made using the new Cricut Lite - Teddy Bear Parade.

Please become a follower of my blog along with a comment as to why Vetran's Day is special to you.  This day is very special to me because my grandpa was an active military person for many years.  When I was a little girl, I used to be a Poppy Girl for the American Legend.  This was a fundraiser to raise money for vetrans.  Please, also include a way I may contact you.  I will be giving away a some blog candy of my own to one lucky randomly picked winner in celebration of this very special day!

  4. Very cute card, love the bear! Veterans Day is a special day to thank those that have served or are serving in the armed forces to protect us and our freedom. So many of the men in my family have served through the years and I want them and everyone to know that I appreciate what they've done or are currently doing. I live in an Air Force town, Beale Air Force Base is only a few miles away, and it's always nice to be able to thank them for the service daily!

  5. Love your A-dor-able teddy bear creation! I don't have that cartridge yet, but now I want it! I am happy to already be a follower of your blog. Thank you for the chance to win some crafty goodies! Veteran's Day is special because it's a day to remember all of our Veterans and men and women in active duty of our armed forces. We should all be sure to remember to be thankful for our military men and women everyday because of them, we are free! My grandpa served in the Army for many years and my Uncle was in the Navy. Happy Veteran's Day!

    Hugs,
    HL

Veteren's day is special to me for many reasons. My grandfather died serving this wonderful country, and I also served. I am honored to have given my time, and be in the company of so many great people that have served or are still serving today. I salute every single veteren and active duty out there as they all deserve it!

  8. Adorable
Veteran's Day is important to me because I have lived in a military town my entire life. And I have so much respect for all those that have made so many sacrifices to protect my freedom and the freedoms of so many others.

  9. I am a follower. Veteran's Day is important to me because if out veterans had not made the sacrifices they did and do, we would not be sitting in the comfort of our homes doing things such as crafting or living the lives we do.
I am beginning to think that if I can get the "Teddy Bear Parade" cartridge I won't need to buy any more. Love your card.
